What is a Family Group?

Be Collective is passionate and committed to building engaged communities, enabling people to give back by doing what they can, when they can. We believe that this should begin at a young age to educate children on how they can make a difference and help create a positive impact.

We acknowledge the importance of building a safe and secure online environment for young people to connect with organisations and volunteering opportunities that have been identified as being suitable for people under 13 years of age.

For this reason, Be Collective has built the ability to create Family Groups on our platform. A Family Group on Be Collective is created and owned by a parent or guardian who can then add members to their family.

Anyone under 13 years of age must belong to a Family Group if they wish to have a Be Collective account and being part of a Family Group gives parents/guardians full visibility of the young person's activity on Be Collective.

There can be multiple parents/guardians who can manage their Family Group and each Family Group can have multiple children/young people added. Any adult user in a family group is automatically a guardian for children in that group.
