How do I control which child groups are included in my parent group opportunities feed?
This article shows group managers how to control which child groups are included in my parent group opportunities feed, if their group is the parent in a hierarchy.
Hierarchies are available only to Be Collective Full Platform subscribers. To learn more about Be Collective's subscription plans, please see the Help Centre article linked below:

If you manage a hierarchy of groups in Be Collective, you'll find that all opportunities managed by child groups are automatically included in the opportunities feed of the parent group.
If you'd like to change this to exclude any particular child groups in your hierarchy for any reason, you can do so through opportunities visibility in your group settings. This setting applies to the opportunities feed in the Be Collective app, and in the Opportunities widget if you've integrated this with your own website.
This includes any third-party opportunities endorsed by the selected child groups, as well as the opportunities they directly own and manage.
Control child groups in the opportunities feed
Open group management for the parent group in the hierarchy — this setting cannot be accessed from a child group
Open the Settings tab from the navigation bar
In the settings sidebar, open Opportunities visibility (shown only when the open group is a parent group in a hierarchy)
In the white section, navigate your group's hierarchy on the left, and select groups within the hierarchy and its folders on the right
If your hierarchy contains folders, click the folder name to access groups inside it — they appear on the right for selection
Check or uncheck the box next to each child group to include or exclude it from the parent group's opportunities feed
Click Save
What happens if I create a new hierarchy, or add a new child group?
All child groups within a hierarchy are selected by default, so their opportunities will be visible in the parent group unless they've been de-selected by an owner or administrator of the parent group.
If you add a new child group to your hierarchy, this will also be included by default, so if you wish to exclude it from your parent group's opportunities feed, you must deselect it in the parent group's opportunities visibility settings immediately after creating the child group.
Are child group's opportunities shown in other child groups?
No. If Child Group A posts an opportunity, it will not be shown automatically in Child Group B's opportunities feed. If Child Group B wishes to share the opportunities with their members, they would need to endorse the opportunity.
